In April 2023 I had the pleasure of being on a Podcast with the lovely Jane & Lisa, the fab duo who make up Foodies Across the Pond. Here's the Podcast :https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/foodie-friends/id1627552748?i=1000611308467

Welcome back to another episode of Foodie Friends!

We like to keep it light and upbeat around here, but we also like to have harder conversations, too.   If you've been here for awhile, you know Jane and I have covered the topic of mental health, shared our own health journeys, and delved into the correlation between our physical and our mental health.

Today our special guest is Dawn Ford, a loss and wellbeing specialist, who helps people discover their own resilience after loss.  And the loss can be anything -- not just the grief of losing a loved one, but the loss of a career, marriage, health, the life someone wanted to live but isn't.

The truth is we all, at different points in our life, walk through grief.  And Dawn is that ear, that shoulder, that impartial person people can reach out to for encouragement and support.

Just listening to Dawn's voice is enough to bring you a sense of calm.  She is truly a special person and this is an incredibly special episode.

We hope you enjoy it.......

Vodcast: Introducing Juli Moran a wedding & funeral celebrant who is based in the South West of England. Personally I can not imagine the amount of emotional energy used in leading funerals and supporting the grieving in those early days of their loss; and only last week Juli took 4 funerals. This Conversation Around Grief emphasises the importance of taking 'time out' from her work as a funeral celebrant, the need to relax with friends and to 'feed her soul' with activities such as river swimming.

She will also share some very useful tips on how to write an eulogy.

You can find Juli at https://soulshineceremonies.co.uk/

Please note that there is some slight 'light changes'/flashing from 8min-9mins - due to a technical mystery. Apologies.

Vodcast: Introducing Puja Vashisht an Ayurvedic Practioner from London. Puja shares with me what Ayurveda is in a nutshell, (it's far too complex to go into on here) how it helped her in the early throws of her grief following the sudden and devastating death of her dear mum. She also talks Rituals & Acts of Remembrance that helped her in her grief. This is the final of the 5 'Conversations Around Grief.'

PODCAST with Menopause Mindset Mentor Sally Garozzo December 2021

In many cultures, we are shown that a display of sadness and grief is unpalatable and unwelcome.  As people that go through menopause, this is bad news.

Grief occurs when we experience any kind of loss or change.  It is not limited to death and bereavement.  So a rising of grief during menopause is natural.

Learning how to navigate this internal change can often mean allowing ourselves to experience the sadness of loss.  But how do we do that when we are so biased towards 'getting over it' as quickly as possible.

If you want to learn to understand grief a little more and how it might relate to your life, then this episode of The Menopause Mindset Podcast might be for you.

In this episode with Dawn Ford, grief and loss specialist, we discuss:

💔 Making keepsakes out of loved ones clothes
💔 Why grief doesn't mean that we are broken.
💔 Why there is no way to grieve properly
💔 What helps us grieve.
💔 The definition of grief
💔 Why grief and loss work is not just for bereavements and deaths.
💔 The consequences of not dealing with grief.
💔 The link between menopause and grief.
💔 Grief happening in layers.
💔 Fear of the tears never stopping.
💔 Deconstructing the word recovery (do we ever fully recover?)
💔 What not to say when someone is grieving

If you're ready to soften your edges and allow yourself to melt into full acceptance of your feelings, then this episode is for you.

A short audio on why I think sharing with me is different from sharing with a counsellor

It is my honest response to a great question from a lady I met recently. I believe counselling, therapy and the Grief Recovery Method all share some common and essential ground, but I also know there are certain elements to the GRM that are pretty unique or that follow a unique and successful format.

Last night was a huge night for me; I pushed my boundaries way off limit!
I was invited to participate in a LIVE conversation on the radio with the lovely Kate Justice.

I feature in two parts in the 'My Hour' section of her show.
19:55 (straight after Rhianna's 'We found love;) - 31:10
2nd round, was approximately 40:10 - 57:35

Feeling exhausted today after all that preparation and nervous energy!

☺️ Please be kind to yourself too if the 10day National Mourning of our late Queen has affected you in any way and for any reason.🙏
